Configure Say, Pi for multiple languages

Say, Pi supports multiple languages for both speech recognition and text-to-speech, making it accessible to users worldwide.

Changing Your Input Language

  1. Open Say, Pi settings by clicking the extension icon
  2. Select your preferred language from the dropdown menu

Auto-Detect Feature

Say, Pi can automatically detect which language you're speaking:

  1. Click the globe icon in the language selection menu

This is ideal for multilingual users who frequently switch between languages.

When to Use Auto-Detect vs. Specific Language

  • Choose a specific language when:
    • You'll mainly use one language
    • You want maximum accuracy
    • You need faster processing
  • Use Auto-detect when:
    • You frequently switch between languages
    • You sometimes mix languages in conversation
    • Convenience outweighs slight accuracy trade-offs
