Say, Pi supports multiple languages for both speech recognition and text-to-speech, making it accessible to users worldwide.
Changing Your Input Language
- Open Say, Pi settings by clicking the extension icon
- Select your preferred language from the dropdown menu
Auto-Detect Feature
Say, Pi can automatically detect which language you're speaking:
- Click the globe icon in the language selection menu
This is ideal for multilingual users who frequently switch between languages.
When to Use Auto-Detect vs. Specific Language
- Choose a specific language when:
- You'll mainly use one language
- You want maximum accuracy
- You need faster processing
- Use Auto-detect when:
- You frequently switch between languages
- You sometimes mix languages in conversation
- Convenience outweighs slight accuracy trade-offs

Say, Pi currently supports speech recognition in dozens of languages and text-to-speech in 32 languages, including:
- English, Spanish, French, German, Chinese

Tips for Multilingual Users
- For conversations in a single language, manually selecting that language typically provides better results than auto-detect
